Shell Beach

Featuring the often photographed cross-shaped monument to Hurricane Katrina, this beach community is a favorite launching point for local fishers.

Mature pelicans are often seen perched on the ruins of old piers and docks that mark the area as a centuries-old mustering point for those seeking the bounty of Lake Borgne and the surrounding bayous.
